Things to do in and around Rimini: places to visit near Hotel Viking

01Viserbella: the sea, the seafront and the beach on your doorstep

At Hotel Viking in Viserbella di Rimini your holiday starts on foot. The beach is 150 metres away, including our partner beach Bagno Neri 53, and just behind it runs the Parco del Mare, Rimini’s new traffic-free seafront, with gardens, benches and a cycle path all the way into town.

During the day you can walk or cycle to Viserba, Torre Pedrera or Rimini, and in the evening it makes a lovely, quiet after-dinner stroll, with plenty of lighting. On this page you’ll find places to visit around the hotel, from the old town to the theme parks and the villages inland, with distances to help you plan your days. 02Rimini centre: two thousand years of history and the Fellini Museum

Rimini’s old town is 7 km away: a quarter of an hour by car, or take the no. 4 bus, which stops 100 metres from the hotel. Walk from the Ponte di Tiberio, built by the Romans two thousand years ago and still used today, to the Arco d’Augusto, by way of Piazza Cavour, the Teatro Galli and the Malatestas’ Castel Sismondo.

This is also where you’ll find the Fellini Museum, spread across Castel Sismondo, Piazza Malatesta and the Cinema Fulgor, and, a short walk away, the Domus del Chirurgo with its Roman mosaics. Opening times, tickets and a Fellini walking route are on our Fellini Museum and Rimini Pass page.

03Sunset drinks at Darsena Sunset

For an aperitivo with a difference, head down in the early evening to the Darsena di Rimini, the marina, about 5 km from the hotel towards the centre. At Darsena Sunset (viale Ortigara 78/80) you can have a cocktail while the sun goes down over the boats and the sea, and some evenings there’s a DJ.

It’s smart but relaxed, and popular with locals and visitors alike: a good spot for a couple or a group of friends before dinner. It’s a restaurant too, so book if you want a table. If you’d rather stay at the hotel, we’ll make you an aperitivo by the pool: have a look at our bar.

04Sunset aperitivo among the vines at Fattoria Mancini

Just past Gabicce, on the headland of the Monte San Bartolo Nature Park at Fiorenzuola di Focara (Pesaro), Fattoria Mancini has vineyards looking out over the Adriatic. The Mancini family have grown Pinot Nero here for five generations, along with Sangiovese, Ancellotta and Albanella. In summer they hold a sunset aperitivo in the vineyard: three wines (a white, a red and a sparkling) with cured meats, cheeses, vegetables and piadina from local producers, lasting about an hour and a half.

It’s about 40 minutes’ drive from Viserbella along the coast. You book online, choosing a date and time, and in winter the estate also does dinners and aperitivi with its own cooking. You can combine it with a visit to nearby Gradara.
