Families and seaside holidays

In summer the Viking is designed for children: the pool is about 1.10 metres deep, always watched over by the lifeguard, with the hot tub next to it and the fenced garden with table tennis, table football and a play area. The Junior Suites have two rooms and up to six beds, cots for children aged 0 to 2 are free, and on the beach there is kids' entertainment six days a week. With all inclusive, the beach umbrella, sunloungers and drinks with meals are included too.

Couples and relaxation

In spring and late summer Viserbella is quiet: an aperitif at the garden bar, walks along the Parco del Mare seafront promenade and day trips to the inland hills. Santarcangelo is about 15 minutes away by car, San Marino 35–40, and in the hills there are wineries to visit and local produce to taste.

Teams and sports events

Every year we host teams and athletes for Happyfania Volley, the Memorial Bellavista, Sport Dance, Ginnastica in Festa and RiminiWellness. The private car park has room for coaches too, we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and we prepare quotes for groups.

Fairs and work

We are open all year round, 5 km from the Expo Centre. 100 Mbps fibre Wi-Fi, a workspace in the bar, 22 kW charging points and room for vans and work vehicles. In winter, on request, we open the restaurant for small groups.

A family-run hotel in Viserbella di Rimini

Hotel Viking is a family-run 3-star hotel in Viserbella di Rimini, run by the Antonioli family for over 35 years. We are 100 metres from the sea and the Parco del Mare, the new green seafront promenade with its cycle path, and 5 km from the Rimini Expo Centre (Fiera di Rimini), about 10 minutes by car. We are open all year round: in summer for families and couples looking for a pool with hot tub, a tree-filled garden and home-made Romagna cooking; in winter for those coming to Rimini for a trade fair, for work, for a sports tournament or for Christmas and New Year. All rooms have a balcony, the private car park is right in front of the hotel and a good part of our energy comes from the sun.

Viserbella, the quieter side of Rimini

Viserbella is the northern part of Rimini, between Viserba and Torre Pedrera: wide beaches, a more relaxed pace than the centre and everything within easy reach. The Parco del Mare runs in front of the hotel, the pedestrian seafront promenade with a cycle path all the way to the centre of Rimini. Italia in Miniatura is 1 km away as the crow flies, and Rimini centre with its nightlife is a few minutes away by car or bus.

A pool in full sun, from morning to evening

The pool is in the garden, a short walk from the beach, in full sun all day and surrounded by greenery, with sunloungers, tables and a gazebo near the bar. It is open from late May to early September. The water is heated and sanitised with ozone and salt, so less chlorine is needed, and it is about 1.10 metres deep: safe for little ones, fun for the grown-ups. There is always a lifeguard at the pool, keeping an eye on safety and keeping everything tidy.

The Maxi Jacuzzi, free for everyone

Next to the pool there is a large Jacuzzi hot tub for 5–6 people, with about 1,500 litres of water, 33 water jets and 14 air jets. It is free for all guests during pool hours. The water is filtered, sanitised with ozone and completely changed every evening. Opening also depends on good, warm weather.

From the bar to the poolside

The bar leads straight to the pool: an ice cream, a cold drink or an aperitif at the tables overlooking the water, while the children play under the lifeguard's watchful eye. Over lunchtime there's plenty of time to sunbathe in peace.

For young and old

Kids have so much fun between the pool and the hot tub that sometimes they'd rather stay here with their friends than go to the beach. With sun all day and the pool in the garden, mum can sunbathe in peace even while the baby sleeps in the room, with a simple baby monitor. After a swim you can relax in the lounge under the pergola, in the shade, with a book or a coffee. And when the sun goes down, the pool is the perfect backdrop for a pre-dinner aperitif at the bar tables overlooking the water. We look forward to seeing you.

Homemade tagliatelle al ragù, Romagna cooking at Hotel Viking

04

Romagna cooking

Country and seaside food, the way a Rimini family eats.

Passatelli, cappelletti, tagliatelle al ragù, piadina. Ours is home-style Romagna cooking, overseen by grandma Nadia: local recipes alongside a few traditional Italian dishes, local seasonal ingredients, and Adriatic fish, which never goes missing from our menus. Guests on half board or full board eat just like at home, but without having to cook and without a care.

From breakfast to dinner

The day starts with a buffet breakfast: warm croissants, home-made cakes, yoghurt, juices and jams. At lunch and dinner you choose from the menu, with two or three options depending on the time of year, plus a generous buffet of vegetables and starters. Fruit, desserts and sorbet are always included, there's often ice cream too, and still or sparkling water is included as much as you like.

For all tastes and all ages

Many dishes on the buffet are also suitable for vegetarians and vegans, and for special dietary needs we prepare dishes to order. For the little ones, soups, purées and baby food are ready every day before their parents' meal. Meals are served in the air-conditioned dining room overlooking the garden trees.

On Thursdays we grill in the garden

Every week in summer, weather permitting, we hold a barbecue in the garden: Romagna sausage, pork ribs and chicken wings cooked in front of guests, with piada, vegetables and watermelon. When fresh fish is available we also arrange seafood lunches and dinners on request, with mixed grills, risotto alla marinara and tagliolini allo scoglio (seafood pasta).

Wines from the Colli di Rimini

Our cellar holds more than 30 labels, served by an AIS sommelier. For everyday drinking we offer local wines, such as sangiovese, sparkling pignoletto and trebbiano. Every winter we visit local wineries, from San Valentino to Tenuta Mara and Tenuta Carbognano, to choose the bottles with the best value for money.

You can choose between bed and breakfast, half board, full board or all inclusive. If half board doesn't show up in the online booking in winter, call us on 0541 721064 and we'll arrange it.

Standard room with sea-view balcony

All rooms have a balcony with a sea view, trees permitting, from the second to the fifth floor. The Daikin air conditioning can be adjusted from each room, including a dehumidifier mode, and in winter there is radiator heating. The bathroom has been renovated, with an 80×80 shower cubicle and soap dispenser. In the room you'll find a 32–40 inch LED TV, a safe, a telephone and free 100 Mbps fibre Wi-Fi. The “do not disturb” key on the lock shows whether the room needs making up: if you want to sleep in, nobody will disturb you.

Junior Suites for families

The Junior Suite measures about 25 m² and is made up of two connecting rooms: one with a double bed and a sea-facing balcony with table and chairs, the other with two double bunk beds and its own balcony over the garden or the pool. Each room has its own air conditioning and TV, and the bathroom is the largest in the hotel. It's perfect for families of 5–6 who want to be together while each having their own privacy.

Accessible to everyone

The hotel is step-free, except for the bar, with a lift and Comfort rooms for guests with disabilities. Cots for children aged 0 to 2 are free, on request.

From your room to the sea

The sea is 100 metres away: leave your room after breakfast and a few steps later you're on the beach. In the evening the balcony is the right place for an aperitif with a sea view. Check-in is from 12:00 to 20:00 and check-out by 10:00; if you're arriving later, let us know and we'll wait for you.

There are reductions for children: ask us for a quote. The private car park and pets cost €6 per night. For Ferragosto (mid-August) bookings are for 8 days, from €1,190 per room in B&B for two people. In some periods a deposit may be required.

35 years,

first at the Perla Verde, now at the Viking. We are the Antonioli family, and we live here.

In summer, at Christmas or during a fair, you'll always find us here. Every year we add new services and improvements.

Our story

A family of Rimini hoteliers

Rimini born and bred, we have worked in tourism since 1980 and have been hoteliers in Viserbella since 1992: first at Hotel Perla Verde and, since 2002, at Hotel Viking. Since then we have met guests from all over Europe, and many have become friends: every summer you'll find them in the garden, ready for a chat.

Everyone in their place

Nadia is the backbone of the kitchen, Guerrino looks after the dining room, Andrea is at reception and is also our sommelier and concierge, and Alan moves between reception, the bar and the front desk. Now the third generation is coming along: the older grandchildren already help run the hotel, while the younger ones play in the garden with the guests' children. We live in the hotel all year round, which is why we are also open in winter, for fairs, work, sport and holidays.

Guests who come back

Many of our guests have been coming back for years: from Rome, Naples, Milan, Munich, Belgium, Switzerland and Lyon. For them, and for those coming for the first time, we add something every year: renovated bathrooms, the Junior Suites for families, the weekly barbecue in the garden, solar panels and charging points for electric cars. A new suite with a private terrace and hot tub is in the pipeline. We remain a family hotel with an open door: if you have a special request, a party to organise or simply want to tell us how your day went, you'll find us at reception, in the dining room or in the garden. That's how we've worked for more than 35 years, and that's how we want to carry on, together with the third generation.

08

sun powered,

for over fifteen years, for a holiday that's as green as possible.

Solar thermal panels and a 7.5 kWp photovoltaic system, with another 14 planned. Our cars are electric and charge with energy from our own panels. Ozone-treated pool, less single-use plastic, sanitised drinking water. Hundreds of trees and shrubs planted in the garden and the car park.

Our vision

Photovoltaic system on the roof of Hotel Viking
Read more

The sun's energy, every day

The solar thermal panels heat water using the sun, so less gas is needed. The 7.5 kWp photovoltaic system can produce around 9,000–10,500 kWh of clean energy a year, and we are planning another 38 kWp, to reach 45.5 kWp in total.

Electric cars and less plastic

In the car park there are 22 kW charging points: arrive, park and charge. For hotel trips we use a Tesla and a Volkswagen ID. Buzz, both electric. We have drastically cut single-use plastic and we sanitise the drinking water to reduce bottled water. In the garden we grow fruit trees, citrus and herbs that we also use in the kitchen. A holiday that's lighter on the environment, without giving anything up.

For over fifteen years

“Sun powered” is how we describe a commitment we've kept up for over 15 years: the Romagna sun isn't just the one on the beach, but also the one that heats our water and produces part of the hotel's energy, along with many small everyday measures, from energy management to looking after the garden. The pool goes in the same direction: the ozone system reduces the use of chlorine, and the hot tub water is changed every evening. For guests, nothing changes in terms of comfort: hot water, air-conditioned rooms, pool and kitchen, with extra care for the sun, water and greenery.

Pet friendly

Our cats roam freely in the garden. Your four-legged friend is welcome too, even on the beach.

We have always welcomed the little friends who live with you: the beaches in front of the hotel are equipped for dogs.

On holiday with your dog

Well-behaved dogs and other pets are welcome for a supplement of €6 per night: to us they are little members of your family and, like you, they deserve to enjoy the sea. In front of the hotel there is a dog-friendly partner beach, with suitable areas and equipment. Let us know when you book, so we can give you all the details.

Easy for those travelling with a pet

The private car park is right in front of the hotel, and the garden is fenced, with entrances on a quiet side street away from traffic. All rooms have a balcony. We are open all year round: spring and autumn are perfect for walks, when it's cooler and the beach is quieter.

Titti and Stella

Two cats also live at the hotel. Titti, born in 2010, is affectionate and spends her days between the lobby and the garden, always ready for a stroke. Stella, born in 2011, is shyer: she loves sunbathing when nobody's around and prefers the pool area.

The whole family at the seaside

Bringing your dog on holiday means not having to leave them at home or in kennels, and enjoying the sea all together. At the Viking you'll find a family atmosphere, lots of outdoor space and a beach that welcomes dogs just a few steps away. If you have any questions before you leave, call us or message us on WhatsApp: we'll answer you ourselves, in person. We'll explain how the partner beach works and everything you need to know to arrive relaxed, so the holiday gets off to a good start for everyone, your dog included. We look forward to welcoming you all!

Hilltop villages a few minutes from the sea

About 15 minutes away by car is Santarcangelo di Romagna: piazza Ganganelli, the Campanone bell tower, the Rocca Malatestiana fortress and around 150 caves dug into the tuff beneath the hill. At the Antica Stamperia Marchi, Romagna fabrics are still printed by hand with wooden blocks. Heading further inland you reach Verucchio, the Valmarecchia and San Leo; San Marino is about 35–40 minutes away, and Gradara is a little further south.

Local wineries and flavours

Every winter we visit the wineries of the Colli di Rimini, from San Valentino to Tenuta Mara and Tenuta Carbognano, and we're happy to recommend where to go for a tasting or to buy olive oil, cheese and cured meats directly from the producers. These are our own recommendations, not sponsored. With the private car park and the hotel open all year round, the Viking is a convenient base for mixing the sea, castles and hills, in spring and autumn too.

Rimini, city of art

The city is worth a day too. The Fellini Museum spreads over three sites in the historic centre: Castel Sismondo, the Palazzo del Fulgor, where the young Federico Fellini saw his first films, and piazza Malatesta, transformed into an open-air stage set. With the Rimini Pass, the official city pass, you can visit museums and monuments. The centre is just a few minutes away by car or on bus no. 4. It's a perfect idea for a rainy day or a winter evening, when Rimini shows its lesser-known side, away from the beach but still close to the sea. Ask us for tips at reception.
