Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli: how to get there from the hotel

01Misano at a glance

A trip along the coast from Hotel Viking, the Antonioli family's 3-star hotel in Viserbella di Rimini: the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli is the Riviera's MotoGP track, home every September to the San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix; right next to it are Misano Adriatico and the Portoverde marina.

It is 34.3 km from the hotel, about 45 minutes by car, and in the evening you are back by the sea for our Romagna cooking. Festivals and events at that time of year are listed on our events in Rimini page.

02History and curiosities

03Things to see and do

The MotoGP Grand Prix will stay at Misano until at least 2031, under a contract covering the 2027 to 2031 editions. In the 2027 calendar the San Marino and Rimini Riviera Grand Prix is scheduled for 10 to 12 September.

As well as MotoGP and WorldSBK, the circuit hosts Italian and international car and motorbike championships throughout the year, the Formula E E-Prix since 2024, and it also has a dirt flat-track circuit over a thousand metres long.

Misano Adriatico has a beach about three kilometres long and a renovated seafront promenade; in 2026 the beaches of Misano Centro and Portoverde were awarded the Blue Flag. The municipality has more than 30 km of cycle paths and three EcoVie routes to explore on foot or by bike.

At Portoverde, on the border with Cattolica, the marina can berth more than 350 boats and is surrounded by a pedestrian holiday complex with arcades, swimming pools, bars and restaurants; the Marina di Portoverde is a 2026 Blue Flag marina. On 10 August it celebrates the feast of San Lorenzo with a rustida, a traditional fish grill.

Misano Monte, the historic village just over three kilometres from the sea, preserves the remains of the Malatesta castle, the Oratorio dell'Agina rebuilt after the 1786 earthquake and the parish church of San Biagio, with a 16th-century wooden crucifix. The pieve (parish church) of San Biagio is documented as early as 997.

Along the river Conca there is a wildlife reserve of about 700 hectares with a free-access birdwatching hide, where you can spot storks, spoonbills and other birds from the cycle and footpaths on both banks.

04Visitor information

The circuit is at Via Daijiro Kato 10 in Misano Adriatico: by car, take the A14 motorway to the Cattolica exit; by train, go to Riccione station and then take a taxi or public transport. During the MotoGP there are shuttle services and dedicated bus lines. Outside events, the gatehouse is open from 7:30am to 7:30pm. On MotoGP weekend the gates open at 7am on Friday and Saturday and at 6am on Sunday, with exit by 7:30pm; tickets are sold online through the official channels and, while they last, at the circuit ticket offices. Ear protection is strongly recommended for children. When no racing is scheduled you can join the Misano Circuit Tour, a guided visit to the paddock, garages, pit lane, pit wall, race control and podium, with the chance to lap the international track by e-bike at sunset or on the little tourist train: in 2026 the dates ran from April to September (bookings mwctour@romagna.bike). 2027 dates confirmed in October 2026: MotoGP 10–12 September 2027; the provisional 2027 WorldSBK calendar has Misano from 18 to 20 June.
