Things to do in Rimini and the surrounding area: places to enjoy near Hotel Viking

01Viserbella: sea, seafront promenade and the beach on your doorstep

From Hotel Viking in Viserbella di Rimini your holiday starts on foot: the beach is 100 metres away, with the partner beach Bagno Neri 53, and just behind it runs the Parco del Mare, Rimini’s new pedestrian seafront promenade, with gardens, benches and the cycle path that goes all the way to the town centre.

By day you can cycle or walk to Viserba, Torre Pedrera or Rimini; in the evening it’s the perfect after-dinner stroll, well lit and peaceful. 02Rimini town centre: two thousand years of history and the Fellini Museum

Rimini’s old town is 7 km away: a quarter of an hour by car, or by bus on line no. 4, which stops 100 metres from the hotel. Stroll from the Ponte di Tiberio, built by the Romans two thousand years ago and still in use, to the Arco d’Augusto, passing piazza Cavour, the Teatro Galli and the Malatesta family’s Castel Sismondo.

Here you’ll also find the Fellini Museum, spread across Castel Sismondo, piazza Malatesta and Cinema Fulgor, and a short walk away the Domus del Chirurgo with its Roman mosaics. Opening hours, tickets and the Fellini walking route are on the Fellini Museum and Rimini Pass page.

03Sunset aperitif at Darsena Sunset

For an aperitif with a difference, head in the early evening to the Darsena di Rimini, the marina about 5 km from the hotel, towards the town centre. At Darsena Sunset (viale Ortigara 78/80) you can sip a cocktail watching the sun set over the boats and the sea, with DJ sets on some evenings.

It is a stylish but relaxed place, popular with locals and tourists alike: ideal for an evening as a couple or with friends before dinner. It is also a restaurant, so it is best to book a table. If you prefer to stay at the hotel, we will prepare your aperitif poolside: discover our bar.

04Sunset vineyard aperitif at Fattoria Mancini

Just past Gabicce, on the headland of the Monte San Bartolo Nature Park, at Fiorenzuola di Focara (Pesaro), Fattoria Mancini has its vineyards overlooking the Adriatic coast: the Mancini family has grown Pinot Nero here for five generations, along with Sangiovese, Ancellotta and Albanella. In summer it hosts the sunset vineyard aperitif: three wines, a white, a red and a sparkling, with cured meats, cheeses, vegetables and piadina from local producers, for about an hour and a half.

From Viserbella it takes about 40 minutes by car along the coast. The experience is booked online, choosing the date and time; in winter the farm also offers dinners and aperitifs with its own cooking. A perfect evening to combine with a visit to Gradara, which is nearby.
